Started riding because: I thought it looked cool - and it is!
Started racing because: A bunch of guys I worked with said I should do the ‘Karapoti’. I had no idea what I was getting in to and they had no idea what they were starting!
Best thing about racing: There’s so many great things! All the different places you get to ride, the people you meet, the thrill of being out there giving it everything.
Hardest thing about racing: The mind games - staying positive and eliminating self doubt because that’s the biggest enemy.
Greatest achievement: So far… my 3.17 at the Karapoti in 2007 at the end of my first season working with Robyn, followed up with a 3.08 in 2008 - chipping away...
Downtime: Ie while I've got my feet up for recovery... Reading, listening to music, playing with my awesome little tabby (Tempo), hanging with riding buds or catching up with old friends who still get me even if they don’t get the riding thing.
Favourites: Food Wishbone pastas, oh, and their caramel slice - just not too often!
Music A bit of everything. Rock/hard rock for hard rides, country or dub for easy rides, pure pop/pop rock/pop country for any time. Most obscure fave would be Platinum Weird.

Book Anything by Bryce Courtenay, Bill Bryson, the Harry Potter series, and biographies/autobiographies (Hamish Carter, Cathy Freeman, Brook Hansen, Andre Agassi). A whole bunch of Lance and Tour books. More non-fiction than fiction.
